LOVE Tennessee Prints!

I really do love Tennessee! I was talking to someone the other day about my studio and how I wanted some really cool prints to hang on the walls. Prints that are personal and have to do with design and our state.

Well, being the designer I am I decided to make a couple. I'm now offering the LOVE Tennessee prints online! They come in various sizes and would make perfect Christmas gifts (wink, wink!).

Be True Designs on 'I love your crazy'!

Normally I don't post twice in a day, but I had to share this fun interview I did with Shannon Darrough that is featured on her blog today (you can view it here)! There were a lot of women owned blogs and designers who inspired me and made me comfortable with taking that 'next step' because I saw that they did it and I could too. I hope this little interview will be the catalyst in someone else's life to take that same leap! Thanks Shannon for the love!

Wedding Wednesday: It's in the Bag!

When guests are traveling in to your wedding its such a special touch to place a 'welcome tote' in their hotel rooms! Fill the totes with waters, snacks, maps of the town, wedding itineraries, and any other touches from where you're getting hitched!

And you don't have to stick with a personalized tote bag, you can use a basket with a custom tag, a paper bag with a label, a paint pale or even a personalized box with goodies! Here are my favorites:

And here's one I just did for a bride in Knoxville, TN. We designed a Knoxville map that had all her local favorites and key spots for the wedding weekend. The design was then screen printed on a tote and filled with treats from the Knoxville area!

Be True Designs on Rustic Wedding Chic!

Well hello friends, I have decided to come rejoin you after a week or so self imposed blog vacation and labor day holiday! And lo and behold, when I returned I found a shoot I recently did with two of my favorites, Julie Roberts Photography and Ruffles and Rouge Events on Rustic Wedding Chic blog!

The original idea came from an escort card challenge but quickly grew into something way bigger! We took something that might be a little taboo like tobacco and made it into a fabulous down home wedding reception with rustic and southern charm! I think my favorite shots are of the fruit flavored drinks in the mason jars!

Be True Designs : Custom Weddings : Rustic Tree

Zac and Kristina were to be married under a tree in Nashville, symbolic of their new lives together rooted in love. When Kristina came to me she knew she wanted a tree on their wedding paper and she wanted to focus on the colors orange and green. (Later she snuck in purple at the wedding). Here is the invitation set we came up with:

The invitations was adhered to a tangelo pocket, which was filled with the rsvp postcard and map information of the wedding venue. A custom monogram can be seen 'carved' on the tree and the K + Z was something that they carried all throughout the wedding.

For the programs we did a simple fan on a stick, perfect for a evening wedding in May!

The reception site was filled with chic white sofas and ottomans topped with colorful pillows that adorned the K+Z monogram:

The cupcake boxes were labeled with multi color stickers:

Even the couple's cake carried the K+Z monogram!

Be True Designs: Baby Shower Invitations

Be True Designs: Southern Flourish Wedding Invitations

Jenn is on of my most enjoyable Be True Design clients to date! The girl is on top of things and I'm actually crashing (i.e. helping Ruffles and Rouge Events) her wedding just so I can see how beautiful everything is going to turn out.

A few things I can't wait to see (some I've designed!)- hand made wooden tables with burlap and lace tablecloths, southern sayings for table numbers, corn hole boards and bocce ball areas, custom cocktails, sandalwood fans with tag programs and hand drawn map totes for the guests!

And really, that is not even scratching the surface!

So for Jenn's invitations, she wanted to set the mood of this amazing affair. While she wanted letterpress, we opted for a letterpress paper with flat printing in a nice slate grey. Flourishes bleed of the paper to add a little southern flair! The slate grey liner and RSVP envelope are in metallic which bring in a touch of formality while the hand sewn pocket says 'down home goodness'.

Here is just a few snippets of this invitation and its coordinating pieces. I'll be sure to show you all the amazing-ness of the wedding after September!

Be True Designs : Under the Sea Invitations

I have worked with Mary Louis since the 1st birthday of her little girl last year, but her 2nd birthday party has definitely topped the cuteness scale! She was going to have an 'under the Sea' party and wanted something to match Curran's adorable bathing suit:

Here's what we came up with for invitations and favor tags (I loved using the gingham for an extra detail on the back!):

She did monogrammed beach towels for favors:

The party was held in their backyard full of pools and water games for the kids:

They even made the cake to coordinate with the invite (served with Goldfish of course!)

And my favorite part, is Mary Louis' dad made a 'Go Fish' game for the kids to play:

Be True Designs: Little Man Party

Megan wanted a super fun theme birthday for her son's 2nd birthday. She came up with a 'Little Man Tie and Mustache Bash!' She wanted lots of stripes and polka dots and to stay in the color palette of orange, blue and green. Here's what we came up with:

After the invitation was designed we did cupcake pics in the shapes of mini ties and the number 2! (She did the cake banner and the adorable bibs for all the kiddo's in attendance ):
